The teens who serve as Counselors at Camp Siberia form deep attachments to the orphans with whom they’re matched. They return to Bainbridge Island to busy lives of family, school, sports and limitless opportunity. And yet, they know that the children they’ve left behind will continue to face hardship.

Camp Siberia families do not stop caring about “their” orphans and through the Legacy Project, they are able to provide ongoing support to the orphanages with whom we work in Novosibirsk. The focus of each year’s Legacy campaign may change; in 2008, the goal was to provide warm winter clothing and over $3000 was raised for that purpose.
